A media wall is as much a design decision as a build one. Here are eight directions to consider — you can start from any of them in the inspiration gallery and customise it in 3D.
1. Minimal floating TV unit
A single recessed TV cut-out with a slim floating shelf beneath. Clean, modern, and the easiest to build.
2. Slatted feature wall
Vertical timber slats across the whole wall, with the TV recessed into them. The slats need careful spacing so they line up with every edge — the configurator handles this automatically.
3. False chimney breast
A central projecting breast frames the TV, with flat wall either side for shelving or art. A classic look that suits period rooms.
4. Recess with LED wall-wash
A recess lit from a hidden LED strip gives a soft glow behind the TV — great for evening viewing.
5. Symmetrical shelving niches
Matching recesses either side of the TV for consoles, speakers or decor.
6. Full-height panelled wall
Floor-to-ceiling panelling with the media wall built in, for a joined-up, high-end finish.
7. Two-tone materials
Mix a painted MDF surround with a wood-effect slatted centre to add depth without complexity.
8. Soundbar + console recesses
Dedicated slots sized for your kit, so cables and boxes disappear into the wall.
Turn an idea into a build
Pick any of these, set your own dimensions, and Wallwrightunits generates the cutting list and bill of materials — so an idea becomes something you can actually build.
